Why it’s different from its counterparts in the market

If you’re a passionate cyclist, chances are you’ve invested serious money in your gear—and that probably includes your pedals. But how often do you find yourself wondering: “How long will they really last?” It’s a fair question. Power meter pedals are exposed to some of the harshest conditions—rain, dust, vibrations, and impacts. So when you choose your next set, durability matters just as much as accuracy.

At Favero, we’ve built the Assioma PRO line around this concern: combining robust design with cutting-edge technology to deliver power meter pedals that truly last.

All our products offer a modular design, where pedal body and power spindle are completely independent. This structure started with the Assioma road power meters (first generation).

All the important parts inside the spindle

The core of Assioma PRO RS

With Assioma PRO, we kept the same modular design but got rid of the pod. Now not only the strain gauges but also the electronics and the rechargeable battery are housed inside the spindle.

This translates into:

  • No power dropouts due to faulty contacts
The rechargeable battery is welded directly to the circuit board and housed in a sealed environment, ensuring a reliable and continuous power supply to the electronics. In contrast, using replaceable batteries would require them to be located in the pedal body—rather than the spindle—to allow easy access for users. This setup would necessitate electrical contact points between the electronics in the spindle and the battery in the pedal body. Unfortunately, these connections are exposed to moisture, dust, mud, and vibrations over time, making them increasingly vulnerable to degradation. As a result, this structure could lead to unstable power readings or frequent signal dropouts, which don’t happen with our power meter pedals.

  • Strain gauges fully protected
Strain gauges are essential for accurately measuring force, playing a crucial role in power calculation. However, they are also highly sensitive components that must be protected from external factors like humidity, which can compromise their performance.
That’s why, in the Assioma PRO line, the strain gauges are safely enclosed within the sealed spindle.
This protective design shields them from environmental stressors, ensuring long-term reliability and allowing them to function flawlessly with every pedal stroke.

When it comes to Assioma (first generation), although the strain gauges are inside the pod and not the spindle, the whole structure is still sealed as the pod is filled with resin—making it the only pod-based power meter on the market with such protection. This translates into the strain gauges being protected from external stressors as well.

A high-quality pedal with no compromise

With the complete independence of spindle and pedal body, the latter can focus on doing what it’s meant to do: deliver a smooth, responsive, and robust riding experience. There’s no compromise on pedal quality just to accommodate electronics—everything works exactly as it should.

Refresh your setup easily—and affordably

Another benefit of our design? You can swap the pedal body whenever you like.

A battery connection between the pedal body and spindle would make disassembly and maintenance far more challenging. This doesn’t happen with our products, as the pedal body is completely electronics-free! You can refresh the aspect of your pedal without replacing the whole system. It’s a smart way to stay stylish without breaking the bank.

Road or MTB? Switch freely, stress-free

Pedal bodies swap

Switching between road and MTB setups shouldn’t require a PhD—or risk damaging delicate sensors. With Assioma PRO, it doesn’t. Thanks to the internalized electronics, swapping pedal bodies is straightforward, quick, and safe.
No tiny screws. No fragile contacts. Just simple, clean compatibility across disciplines.

So, what do you get with Assioma PRO?
A smart investment. A rugged design. The freedom to evolve your setup. And most of all, the peace of mind that your power data will always be reliable—ride after ride, season after season.
